the terms.

KERN audio is operated by Jonas Rosbech, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. when we say "KERN," "we," or "us" in these terms, that's who we mean. when we say "you," we mean you, the person using our plugins or visiting our website.

when you purchase a KERN plugin, you receive a permanent, non-exclusive license to use the software. you own the license. we own the software. here's what that means:

all plugins are $29 USD. one-time payment. no subscriptions. no upgrade fees. applicable VAT or sales tax may be added at checkout depending on your location.

payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC), our merchant of record. they handle payment processing, VAT/tax collection, and invoicing on our behalf. your payment information is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy. we never see or store your card details.

we offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund on all purchases. full details are in our refund policy.

we provide free demo versions of all plugins. demos have full functionality but fade audio every 45 seconds. demos don't expire. use them as long as you want to evaluate the plugin.

some plugins are developed through community funding. when you pledge for a community-funded plugin:

• you pay a reduced price ($19) during development
• you get the finished plugin when it ships
• you get access to development updates and can provide feedback
• the same 14-day refund policy applies from the date of payment
• if a plugin is cancelled before completion, all pledges are refunded in full

your license includes all updates to the plugin you purchased. bug fixes, performance improvements, new presets, all free, forever. we don't charge for updates.

updates are optional. you're never forced to update, and older versions will continue to work.

KERN plugins require macOS 10.13 or later (Intel and Apple Silicon), or Windows 10 or later. available as VST3 and AU formats. it's your responsibility to verify compatibility with your system before purchasing, but again, there's always the demo and the 14-day refund.

the KERN name, logo, plugin names (SMOOTH, WARM, WIDE, PUSH, OPEN), website content, and all software code are owned by KERN audio. your purchase gives you a license to use the software, not ownership of it.

anything you create with our plugins is entirely yours. we make no claim to your music, mixes, or any creative output.

what we collect. your email address and order information (via Lemon Squeezy). that's it. no tracking pixels. no analytics on plugin usage. no data harvesting.

license activation. when you activate a plugin, it sends your license key and a machine identifier to Lemon Squeezy's API. this is a one-time call. after activation, the plugin works entirely offline.

email. if you sign up for our mailing list, we'll send occasional updates about new plugins and releases. you can unsubscribe anytime.

we don't sell your data. ever. to anyone. for any reason.

KERN plugins are provided "as is." we work hard to make them reliable and bug-free, but we can't guarantee they'll work perfectly in every environment, with every DAW, on every system.

to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KERN audio is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our software. our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the plugin.

nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws, including EU consumer rights.

these terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. if you're in the EU, you also retain any mandatory consumer protection rights under your local law.

we may update these terms from time to time. if we make significant changes, we'll note the date at the bottom of this page. continued use of our software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
